National Student Speech Language Hearing Association
What is NSSLHA and what do we do?
Founded in 1972, NSSLHA is the national organization for graduate and undergraduate students interested in the study of normal and disordered human communication. NSSLHA is the only official national student association recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). NSSLHA has approximately 11,000 members with chapters in more than 301 colleges and universities. NSSLHA membership is available to any part-or full-time, graduate or undergraduate student interested in the study of communication disorders. Students pursuing academic study as speech-language pathology assistants, students pursuing a doctorate of philosophy or doctorate of audiology, and students enrolled in a CSD program outside of the United States can be members of National NSSHLA. Each year the chapter has the opportunity to earn chapter honors. The NSSLHA chapter at 国产AV has maintained gold chapter honors for the past two years.
The university chapter of NSSLHA is operated by students from undergraduate and graduate programs and faculty advisors. Membership is open to students interested in the field of communication sciences and disorders and requires a joining fee. The university chapter sponsors events and fundraisers that help to provide support for local and international charitable organizations and groups including the 国产AV Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic as well as the Communication Sciences and Disorders program. Individuals who are interested in learning more about NSSLHA should send an email to nsslha@valdosta.edu.
