Internships
Students must complete 300 hours of relevant work experience in I/O in order to graduate from the program. Recent Alumni have interned with a range of organizations including Lockheed Martin, Department of Defense, Chevy, Kendra Scott, Georgia Lottery, and Valdosta Aquatics. Despite the pandemic our 2019 Cohort has gone on to work internships ranging from local opportunities to working with companies across Georgia and the rest of the US. Below are short bios of some of the internships and projects some of our students are apart of.
Ireina Hyde
Title: People Services Intern
Company: South Georgia Medical Center
Summary: In this internship, I learn about the different roles and how they function in the workplace. In regards to employee relations, I have been exposed to: document verification processes, recruiting styles, and updating HRIS systems and employee databses. Occasionally, I get the chance to work on their monthly employee engagement activities and I also learn how to facilitie these activities. I also have opportunities to work on special projects such as, creating/managing employee satisfaction experiences and assisting in updating the performance management softwares.
Destini Osby
Title: HR Intern
Company: Jacobs Solutions
Summary: My duties consist of providing support to Jacobs' teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion. I also work with the human resources team on some of the highest priority HR projects and initiatives exposing me to a variety of HR functions throughout the organization. I also get the oppportunity to design and complete a capstone project that I will present to executive leadership at the end of the internship program.
Tiana Watts
Title: HR Consultant
Company: Higher Design, LLC.
Summary: I work with small to large companies, helping them develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and practices. I consult on issues related to recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, diversity management, legal compliance, compensation and benefits design and implementation.
Katarina Noll
Title: HR Generalist
Company: Cleaver Brooks
Summary: In this position, I have been exposed to different aspects within HR, such as I have completed an internal audit, created attrition trackers, and I analyze data.
Title: Epidemiologist Data Analyst Company: Center for Disease Control
Summary: For this role, I developed, interepreted, & presented data for the Division of Violence Prevention. My biggest project included inputting & analyzing over 500 bits of data. The data gets inputted into excel and then transformed into PivotTables. After completing my research and the internship, I gave a 15 minute presentation to the National Center for Injury Prevention.

Title: HR Intern
Company: Altium Packaging, Atlanta GA
Summary: I worked as an HR Intern at Altium Packaging, a mid-sized manufacturing company with a focus on innovative and bespoke bottling and packaging solutions. My work primarily consisted of two projects: A job analysis, and internal criterion-based validity study on one of our selection assessments. I created a job analysis questionnaire which I gave to every manager working at Altium to update job descriptions for our 318 jobs, and ran statistical analyses to assess criterion validity of one of our selection assessments, and gave a presentation outlining my recommendations on how to best utilize our assessments going forward based on the results.
Anthony Reid
Title: Organizational Development Intern
Company: Training Resources Group, Inc (TRG), Arlington, Virginia (Remote)
Summary: TRG is a mid-sized consulting agency that provides clients with retreat and event facilitation, executive coaching, capacity building, organizational assessments, technical training, learning technology, leadership development and knowledge management in 100+ different countries. My job consists of working alongside OD Training Consultants in the facilitation of training, producing and curating retreats, and enacting the full OD process with clientele. During the internship so far, I have built my skills in the organizational development process and training and have engaged and built connections with many OD practitioners throughout the organization.
Bailey Fordham
Title: HR intern
Company: Terrapin Beer Co., Athens GA
Summary: At Terrapin, I created engagement surveys regarding safety at the plant. I also performed several one-on-one interviews with shift leads and other leaders at the brewery to better their training system. Currently, I am working on a culture deck for their website in order to positively portray Terrapin's values and culture.

Summary: IWA is a startup company that I've had the pleasure of working for this semester. At IWA, I create internal facing documents, manage their social media, and develop their training manual for future employees.
Kyla Dickson
Title: HR Intern
Company: Verizon, (Remote)
Summary: Within my role as a Human Resource intern at Verizon, I worked on several projects supporting the needs of the Executive Education & Top Talent team. Even in this entirely virtual position, my experience in this role, and this organization was truly incredible. Because of this opportunity, my understanding of how professional development programs are initiated, designed, and executed for senior leaders has indeed expanded.
Austin Prewett
Title: Human Capital Analyst
Company: Camden Delta Consulting, (Remote)
Summary: My internship has me working closely with strategy consultants to help deliver organizational change, leadership development, workforce planning, organizational design, and more. I have been working with Camden Delta for four months and have already learned so much about survey development, data analysis, preparing presentations for clients, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders. My experience with Camden Delta so far has given me new skills and the confidence to compete in the job market when I graduate.
