The collection has strengths in natural history, history of science, British and American literature, and other areas of distinction, with several supporting endowments. Its holdings intersect with many of the collections in the department, especially pre-eminent collections, including the Latin American and Caribbean Collection, the Baldwin Library of Historical Children’s Literature, and the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica. The Curator provides leadership in an environment that values diversity, collaboration, and excellence. This position is a year-around (12-month), full-time tenure-track library faculty position.

Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida seek a collaborative and engaging Copyright & Scholarly Communications Librarian to provide leadership and direct outreach and support to the University community on issues related to scholarly communications, intellectual property law and policy, and open scholarship. This twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position advocates for, develops, and delivers timely educational and instructional programs relevant to the evolving intellectual property and scholarly communications ecosystems.
The Copyright and Scholarly Communications Librarian builds and maintains strong, collegial relationships across the Libraries and campus. These relationships support the development of collaborations and partnerships that reflect the University’s Core Values and support a wide variety of services and programs that contribute to the University’s education, research, and service missions. This position provides expertise in alternative publishing models, open scholarship, author rights, copyright, and compliance with public-access requirements for federally funded research and is responsible for tracking trends that affect access to scholarly information. Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, Pitts Theology Library, Emory University

Reporting to the Head of Cataloging, the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian is a key member of the Pitts Theology Library’s technical services team, contributing to the internal consistency and quality control of the data and metadata of the Library’s discovery systems and supports the discoverability and accessibility of the Library’s resources. The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian contributes to the processing of the Library’s new acquisitions by producing quality catalog records of bibliographically complex materials. The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian works closely with members of the Access Services team in refining catalog records and with the Digital Asset Librarian and Technology Development Librarian in supporting the operation of the Library catalog and managing the Library’s growing digital collections. The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian may also collaborate with colleagues at other campus libraries on metadata and cataloging projects.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Original and complex cataloging of monographs, periodicals, and electronic resources
Evaluating and maintaining catalog data to support resource discovery
Authority work on controlled headings and vocabularies
Managing non-MARC metadata of digital resources in Library digital collections
Keeping current with issues and trends in cataloging and metadata management
Serving on library and campus committees as appropriate
Participating in relevant professional and scholarly associations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in library and information studies or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of integrated library systems and the structure of online catalogs
Experience with OCLC, MARC, and LCSH
Experience with one or more non-MARC metadata schemas (Dublin Core, Bibliographic Ontology, MODS, etc.)
Familiarity with content standards (e.g. RDA, etc.) and metadata systems
Understanding of existing and emerging descriptive principles and practices
Good organizational, time-management, and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, within a collegial environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in theology, religious studies, or related discipline
Experience conducting academic research
Knowledge of standard and emerging cataloging principles and metadata schemes
Experience with Ex Libris’s Alma ILS and Omeka/OmekaS
Experience with data transformation tools (OpenRefine, Python, etc.)
Familiarity with non-LC controlled vocabularies (Getty AAT, Homosaurus, etc.)
Familiarity with maintenance and support of digital collections
Proficiency in a language other than English

The Library () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for a Systems Librarian to facilitate innovative and collaborative efforts to support the Georgia Tech Library’s collection management, access, and discovery platforms. Partnering with library stakeholders and technologists, the Systems Librarian will serve as an administrator and main technical lead for the Library’s collection management and discovery systems, primarily Ex Libris’ Alma/Primo. Working both independently and collaboratively, lead projects and initiatives to improve workflows, implement integrations, assess Library tools, and find creative solutions to improve upon the management and discovery of library resources. This role has responsibility for maintaining optimal system performance for users and the development of services based on the functionality and capabilities of Alma and Primo. The Systems Librarian is expected to serve on internal and external committees and collaborate with partners across the state. This position will report to the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarly Access and work in close collaboration with Library Information Technology. As a member of the University System of Georgia, the GT Library is committed to supporting the USG migration to FOLIO in 2025. This is a 12-month faculty position with an effort distribution of 80% excellence in assigned duties,10% scholarship, and 10% professional service to the library profession.
