Appliance Policy
Students may use only UL-approved surge protectors (no more than 2 surge protectors are permitted per room) that contain their own fuse to increase their number of outlets. Any device that is plugged into another device must have a surge protector.
Mini-Fridge
There may only be one mini-fridge per room. The fridge must not exceed 4.4 cubic feet or 1.5 amps.
Microwave
There may only be one microwave per room. The microwave should be limited to 1000-watt max.
Other Permitted Appliances
- Computers
- Radios/Stereos/Speakers - quiet hours
- Televisions
- Digital multimedia receiver and/or Video game systems
- Desk lamps
- Coffee makers
- Electric blankets
Non-Permitted Appliances
- Open Element Appliances and/or appliances that glow red
- Toaster
- Air Fryer
- Hot plate
- Broiler
- Space heaters
- Kerosene heaters
- Griddles
- Toaster ovens
- Electric grills (George Foreman type)
- Electric fry pan/skillets
- 2.4 GHz phones
Residents living in Centennial Hall may be permitted to have some kitchen appliances listed above: a toaster, air fryer, griddles, toaster oven, electric grill, and a fry pan/skillet.
