The Art and Science of Weather
Why do hurricanes spin? Why do we have seasons on Earth? What causes a tornado? Why does Valdosta experience afternoon thunderstorms in the summer? What causes lightning and thunder? What does a cloud feel like? These are just a few of the many topics and applications of science to weather that visitors will be able to explore. Job awareness and college majors will also be an important theme (photography, meteorology, mass media, atmospheric science, etc.). The goal is to increase STEAM knowledge, career opportunities, and higher education degree awareness for the students in our region.
The weather exhibit will be open to school and community field trips September through November 2024.
