How do I complete the 国产AV admissions process?
All applicants must complete an application for admission and submit a $40 application fee. Freshmen must submit an official high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores. Transfer students with less than 30 transferable hours must meet freshmen admission requirements as well as submit all official college transcripts. Transfer students with more than 30 semester hours are only required to submit official transcripts from all colleges attended. All students are also required to submit a certification of immunization and report of medical history.

What do I do if I am undecided about my major?
Not knowing what you want to major in right away is nothing to worry about. There are advising and career placement centers on campus to help you choose what’s best for you. You’ll have plenty of time to take some of your basic courses before having to declare a major. The University also offers 国产AV 1101, a class designed to help you adjust to college life and make the most out of your time at 国产AV.

What types of financial aid are available at 国产AV and how do I apply for them?
国产AV offer Pell Grants, federal loans, HOPE scholarships and various 国产AV scholarships. The first step is complete the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid form (FAFSA) at this link , which can be completed after January 1st of the year you are planning to enroll. Once you have been accepted for admission by 国产AV, you can complete the General Scholarship Application on-line from this link Scholarships. On campus housing, what’s available? How do I apply?
Once you have been accepted / tentatively accepted to 国产AV, you are eligible to apply for housing by logging into Banner and clicking on the housing application. You will also be sent a housing postcard in regards to completing the housing application online.
国产AV houses approximately 2855 students on campus in five traditional residence halls, two suite-style halls, and two apartment communities. Traditional residence halls offer double-occupancy rooms and community bathrooms opening onto conventional hallways. Brown, Langdale, Lowndes, Patterson, and Reade are the traditional residence halls. Georgia Hall and Hopper Hall, suite-style facilities, offer both private and semi-private rooms. Converse Hall, an apartment style facility, offers efficiency units with a bathroom and a kitchenette and one-bedroom (2-person) units with a bathroom and a full kitchen. Centennial Hall, an apartment style facility, features individual bedrooms, a kitchen shared by no more than four residents, one to two bathrooms, and a dining/living room area.
First-year, first-time freshmen are housed in Brown, Georgia, Langdale, Lowndes, Patterson, and Reade. Upperclassmen are housed in Centennial, Converse, Georgia, Hopper, and Reade. Reade houses honors students – both freshmen and upperclassmen. All halls are set up for wireless internet and cable television - including the 国产AV movie channel that showcases new releases.
Housing is offered on a first-come basis and is generally full by May. Housing assignments for Fall will be released mid-July. You will need to login to your Banner account to view your assignment information. Please note that Housing is limited for returning students. What about the availability of off-campus housing?
After your freshman year, you are no longer required to live on campus. While there are apartment and suite style dorms available, there are also plenty of off-campus options. There are townhomes, apartments, and houses available and many within walking distance of campus!

What steps does 国产AV take to make sure the campus is safe?
Valdosta State prides itself on having a safe campus for its students! The University Police have certified police officers on duty 24/7 monitoring campus on foot and also patrolling the perimeter. The department also offers police escorts for students walking around campus, especially at night. There is an available emergency call number available for students and also 100 strategically placed call boxes across campus that are monitored 24 hours a day. Throughout every semester, classes are offered in self-defense and also drug and alcohol awareness. Other safety measures include fully staffed residence halls and personal keys and ID cards to residence halls so that only the residents have full access.

What happens if I get sick?
Our students have access to our Student Health Center! It is located on main campus and provides care for students ranging from routine to urgent. The Health Center is staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, a pharmacist, lab techs, nurses, and office professionals. Appointments are available during the week and you can always find something that fits into your busy schedule. With an in-house pharmacy, you also can handle all of your prescription needs right on campus. In addition, 国产AV has licensed professional counselors on campus to assist in any personal, social or educational concerns. Counseling services are free of charge and confidential and located on Main Campus. Please visit our website via Health Services for our hours and updated information.

Hungry? Where to eat on campus.
With such a diverse campus, comes a diverse range of dining options! 国产AV prides itself on offering meals that meet everyone's varying dietary desires and needs. Students living on campus can enjoy Palms Dining Center for a daily variety of all-you-care-to-eat options including entrée stations, hot pizzas, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salad bars, dessert options, and more. In addition to our dining center, there are other great places such as Chick-fil-a, Moe’s, Starbucks, Which Wich, Valdosta Bread Company, Einstein Brothers Bagels, and the Blazer Sports Grill, offering late night meals and great games. To even better serve our students, a select number of off campus restaurants accept your ID card, so you can use your meal plan money when out on the town! With all these options, there is plenty to choose from!

What about campus transportation? Can freshmen have cars?
Getting around campus will be one of the last things you worry about at 国产AV. Any student may have a car on campus, but you must purchase a valid student virtual parking permit from the Parking & Transportation Department. If you decide to have a car at school, there are approximately 4,000 parking spaces for students. 国产AV also has a shuttle bus service that will take you all over the campus from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Monday through Friday. Additionally the Night Operations Team provides a shuttle service from 11 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.; 7 days a week. While the convenience of campus allows you to simply walk to most locations, our bus services are almost always available for your use!

What kinds of computing facilities are available? Should I bring my own computer to 国产AV?
Students may bring their own computers for their residence hall rooms. All of the Residence halls have access to a wireless and wired Internet connections. There is also a computer lab within 100 yards of each residence hall for students to use. 国产AV, recognized as a technology leader within the University System, has 44 computer labs on campus that are opened for student use and a 24-hour Internet Café in the Odum Library. Students may also rent laptops for school use from Media Services located in Odum Library. Email accounts are provided through the Microsoft Windows Live system and Internet use is free. Students can register online for classes as well as access course materials and entire classes online. With all of that being said, a student is encouraged to bring their own computer if he or she wants to, but there are plenty of computers available for students to use at 国产AV. A student does not have to own their own computer, since he or she will have access to all of our computing facilities.

Once you are logged in click Personal Information, and then select View E-mail Addresses. Scroll down to view your email address.

Once you have your information click on the Live @ VSTATE link on the 国产AV home page to go to the email log-in page and log-in with your username and your initial password (6 digit birthday).
